Noisy Knees

Do you have grinding, cracking, grating or popping sounds in or around your knees?  If so, you may be more likely to develop symptomatic knee osteoarthritis, which is marked by loss of cartilage and frequent pain. A new study, however, suggests that getting more fiber may help reduce the risk of developing symptomatic knee osteoarthritis. Those with the highest total fiber intake (about 21g a day) had a 30% lower risk of developing the condition over the next 4 years compared to those whose intake averaged 9g a day. Fiber sources in the study included grains, legumes, nuts, fruits and vegetables.
