Fireworks Safety Tips

Adults should always supervise any fireworks activities.  Obey all local laws regarding fireworks.  Read labels carefully and follow directions.  Do not allow children to handle fireworks, especially sparklers.  These hand-held fireworks can burn at temperatures around 1800 degrees and are the No. 1 cause of fireworks injuries to children.  Make sure the launch area is open and away from homes, people and pets before lighting fireworks.  Always have a hose or bucket of water nearby.  Never relight a dud; wait 20 minutes and then soak it in water.  When attending public displays, stay well behind safety barriers.
